Buying a fairline targa 40

Post by Darren7 » Thu Jul 06, 2017 7:40 am

Hi all, I'm very new to this forum and the boat ownership world. We are looking in the next year to get ourselves our first ever boat and after a lot of viewing and research ( I think ) !! We are looking at an off shore cruiser, and love fairline targa's, probably a 40. Will be a second hand on, maybe mid 2000's.

I'm sure questions like mine are so common but any and all advice would be great as to what to look out for, where to purchase, survey of boat, costs, moorings, servicing, mechanical things a very basic new boat owner needs to know, general maintenance, training courses, do's and don't's and anything else.

Thank you all

Darren.

Hi Darren, T340 is a great boat and we can help with all of those questions. Ask away when you're ready.

I have a 2004 vintage T40 it's a great boat, we put it through some rough stuff as we live in the Channel Islands. Great on fuel (70lts/ hr @23knts) on D6 310s.

Thanks Jezza, most useful, I'll certainly be making loads of enquiries and asking questions over next few months
