Targa 28/29 and 30
Targa 28/29 and 30
Great site, thinking of buying a Fairline could you answer me a question. Is the Targa 28/29 and 30 the same boat in all but fit out or is the 30 bigger?
The Targa 29 had the same hull as the Targa 28, but with the addition of a bathing platform. The T29 and T30 and hulls are also very similar; 29ft 9in for the T29, 29ft 11in for the T30. I believe the extra length of the T30 hull is due to a slightly larger bathing platform. T29 and T30 superstructures are identical. The T30 had a completely new superstructure and interior.
S'not strictly true, Pete. The 28 and 29 are identical hulls and superstructures, the only difference being the longer, teak laid platform on the 29. The hull of the 30 is stretched by more than the two inches you indicate - more like a foot, and the superstructure and interior is totally new.
The T29 has more cockpit space than the T30, as the latter has a permanent sunpad at the transom, but the 30 has the option of some really neat concealed davits. Most T30's seem to have KAD32's, while most T29's have AD31's. You'll pay a premium of at least ?10-15k for a T30 over a T29.
Interior space in all three is at a premium, but we've found it cosy and tolerable for a week at a stretch for a family of four.

hi we have a T30 with snap davits which work well with a ems 2.85m ridged floor inflatable.
I have seen a T30 with telescoic davits which retract into the pillars either side of the sun bed, did think about fitting them to allow the outboard to stay on the tender rather than stowing it all the time but the cost and the fear that suspending a lump of steel and grp off the back in a good swell might be something my t30 would not thank me for!
try this link........ i think a pair were about ?700

Re: Targa 28/29 and 30
Hi, I had a Targa 29 with the KAD 32's, faantastic boat with bags of power & deck space! The 30 wastes lots of space with a sunpad too small for a 10 year old. The 29's the better boat.AndrewA wrote:Great site, thinking of buying a Fairline could you answer me a question. Is the Targa 28/29 and 30 the same boat in all but fit out or is the 30 bigger?
