Targa 29 helm control

Post by timrovers » Sun Aug 12, 2018 1:30 pm

Hello
I have a Targa 29. Below the two helm control levers are two pairs of black soft rubber buttons - what do they do ? The dealer didn’t explain very much about the controls, and the ‘manual’ offers no information. Any ideas ?
Thanks.

I think they are test buttons for the engine alarms. I don't know why there are pair of them though. Give them a press and see what happens!

Assuming we are talking ref the two buttons directly below the lever controls.......

These have to be pressed to allow the drive trim to rise above say +6 degrees and into beach range. In other words there is a safety cut out in the electrical system that will NOT allow the drive to rise above a certain figure with the engine running and in gear. Pressing the button and keeping it pressed, "overides" the automatic cut out.

Look on line some where you should be able to download a Volvo Penta instruction book. Which will explain it far better than I have.
