Sq42 - Air conditioning with gen pack

Postby tim6787 » Thu Sep 07, 2017 7:53 am

Hi,
I'm new to this forum so hope I'm asking in the right place.

I have a Sq42 with air conditioning and gen pack which incorporates a dehumidifier. Does anyone know if it is safe or designed to be left on all winter/when not on-board? Or should it only be used when we're on-board?

Also has anyone experience leaking windows in rough sea?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim

We have a 42sq ..not sure what you mean "gen pack" but we plan to run 1 unit on extremely low heat and 1 on dehumidify option this winter. We installed Bilge heaters so we don't have to winterized the systems as our waterway doesn't freeze and we plan to use the boat year around.

Does anyone know how to access the ac unit that blows in the galley? I think we are having an issue with that unit and want to get it serviced.

We have had no experience with the windows leaking but haven't been out in really rough seas. We did order screens for the porthole windows too.
