1984 Turbo 36 exhaust "fish tails" wanted

Postby rentalrider » Fri Oct 18, 2013 2:01 pm

Anyone have luck sourcing or making the fish tails that divert the exhaust underwater for the turbo 36's? I have an '84 which never had any on her, but would like to add them if at all possible. Any suggestions for a guy not afraid of trying something on his own? Thanks in advance,
Rick

Anyone have anything? Maybe I'm calling them by the wrong name? Anyone have a picture of them or a link to a picture? Just want to know where to start...

Is this what you are looking for? A couple of pages down in the document:

I do not think the exhaust elbows from Salisbury is made any more.

I read somewhere the other day someone had made their own from cut down stainless saucepans!
I suppose it sounds mad, but could work?

Is there a particular reason why you want to fit them to your Turbo 36?
I have those grp exhaust cowlings fitted to my sedan 36 (fitted by fairline), and although the benefit of reducing exhaust smoke at start up is a bonus, I'm not a big fan of them as you can't tell if you have raw water flow and the engine tone is too muted for my personal liking.
Regards Jon.
