Post by York Boater » Mon May 10, 2010 11:29 am

I have a targa 34 and the anti slip parts on the topsides are very dirty with a grime that I can not clean off. Does anuone know what I could use??

I've had the same, I'm assuming you mean the diamond pattern in the gelcote?

Only thing that seams to work is a stiff nylon bristle deck brush with either starbrite's hull cleaner or Oxalic acid, you need to work it in with the brush and let the cleaners do their job before washing down with plenty of water.

Don't try and make it too shiny though as you loose a certain amount of grip.

Starbright deck cleaner, cheap and I found it works well. If its really stubborn use the deck cleaner making it foamy all over by using with a deck brush then use a power washer like a karcher. setting to lowest pressure first then increasing if needed (keeping away from hatches / ports etc)

Have had the same problem on many grip surfaces and used all the
usual expensive brands.

I ran out and only had some tesco spray bleach,?1.99 left it on for 5/6 mins brush and power blast.

worth a try
