Hi Ray
It's a din plug and therefore not what I think you are after. Smaller diameter.

Hi Ray,
If you are talking size then yes, it's a standard DIN size but it's only a power outlet, you would not be able to heat a cigar lighter in it without damage to the socket (although it would fit)

DIN in this instance is the recognised standard size, just like all single DIN audio equipment for cars and nothing to do with din sockets as used in audio equipment from yesteryear :?

Hi Sorry guys I didn't explain it very well.
I need to fit a 12 volt power outlet and thought I knew which socket I required until I started to search.

I guess the question is "Which socket and plug do I need"

Ray

Hi Ray,

Which socket you need depends on which connector your pump has. I assume you want the 12V socket on the transom so you can pump a tender?

If its a standard lighter socket plug (most pumps will be) then the type you have suggested is fine. Its probably better and cheaper to buy from a non marine shop, eg these guys sell waterproof ones for motorcycles ...

try and mount it a bit higher where it wont get swamped etc.
