I have a brakedown on my starboard motor. Do I have to take the port motor out before i can replace the starboard?

Best regards
Jørgen

Hi Jorgen,

I have only just read your post so you may have the thruster fitted already.
But if you have'nt, the space required should be just in front of the bunk or an access hatch in the bunk, I can't quite remember the fwd layout. There should be enough depth under the internal to fit an SE40 12v Sidepower.

An SE40 would probably be a little underpowered. I had en SE60 in a Nidelv 28, and it wasn't too much power, even for that boat.

When the wind is elsewhere, SE40 would be plenty for fine tuning your manouvers, but with wind... and that's when you need it, You might need something stronger, if available room permits.

Starboard motor collapsed

Post by JJohansen » Mon Nov 07, 2016 9:18 am

My starboard engine in my Fairline Targa 30 has collapsed. It is a Volvo Penta KAD32.
Is it possible to take the engine out, without also having to take the port engine out?
Best regards Jørgen
