Hi Roger,

Try asking on the "Fairline Forum" rather than "Project Forum", not much responses usually on this part of the forum except for total refits.

Might be worth adding to the symptoms that the supercharger is stuck always ON on this engine.

Really I would pay a volvo guy to come take a look for 1-2hours to confirm you have a real problem before you go to the hassle/expense of removing an engine from boat.

Another thing I noticed was when the steam was coming out the crank case breather it was pretty static, suggesting the engine blower fan might not be working.

Give me a call if you want to solve the other problems first to eliminate them from the problem.

Thanks

HI AJAY.

Have had Volvo RK engineer down and came out with me for checking.
he is certain that pot 2 and 3 piston /liners worn he commented that at some stage engine overheated hence the dirty water in the fresh
water tank which i drained and re filled with new coolant.

But thats marine engines for you one minute ok next ??
Also in the bilge now salt water think something else wrong.
Anyway i am having engines out in September and give them both
an overhaul together with legs port leg full of white emulsified oil again
the one that Jim fixed ??

Still going out bit on very low revs about 8 knots no problem.

Just have to grim and bear it.

Roger
