Re: Targa 38 Stern Drives, angle of toe in ?

When you say, 'toe in', do you mean the trim? My T34 runs best with the drive trimmed right in ('-4' I think). Regarding the erratic raising of the drives, have you tried some contact cleaner on the terminals of the relays mounted at at the back of the engine bay? They look like this... http://www.y...

Re: TARGA 44 2009 ELECTRIC ROOF problems

That's a fairly recent boat so Bates Wharf should be able to help.

Re: Stern drive on Fairline Targa 34

The Starboard side stern drive can be put into beach without pressing the red button on the top of my Volvo Penta switch. My port side when raised stops at beach and to raise to full tilt the red button has to be pushed and you can hear a relay operating. I suspect that its the switch or relay, but...

Re: Liferaft Targa 34

Great boat (I have one too). My liferaft doesn't fir the locker but I was told the following... "I believe it is designed to take a 4 man non inflatable floor (single skin floor) but it still sticks out further than the aperture held in place by an aluminium band." Best thing to do would b...

Re: Fairline merchandise for sale

Might be worth a call to Bates Wharf as they may still have some of the original white Quba jackets and were selling them cheap the last I heard.

If it's cufflinks you're after, please let me know.

Re: Turbo 36 not performing

As others have said, the first thing to do is get the bottom and props scrubbed. I'd also have a look at the fuel, preferably via the sender and see if it looks clean. At worst it will have some diesel bug, at best it might be a bit stale. Also, make sure you carry some spare fuel filter on board an...

Re: Phantom 41

There's another two reasons that I've hear suggested... 1) By minimizing connections to other circuits there is less chance of a failure leading to the draining of the starboard battery. 2) Some chargers may be unable to charge battery banks of different sizes. I've next found the existing wiring to...

Re: Targa 43 Bow thruster

My point is that to get enough power to the bow thruster it may need a dedicated battery in the bow next to it.

Re: Targa 43 Bow thruster

My Targa 34 has an uprated prop for the bow-thruster. I wonder if that's something worth investigating?

Also, does it have a dedicated battery?

Re: Auto Trim Tabs

I found this http://www.mente-marine.com , which seems pretty straight forward. I also found http://www.zipwake.com - however, this seems more like a full system with redesigned flaps etc... I had a look at the Mente Marine website and video. Looks quite cool but the boat in the picture is way smal...

Re: Auto Trim Tabs

I'm with Richard C on this. I rarely adjust the trim tabs unless going into a head sea where dropping the bow makes for a drier ride. I'd ask the original poster why he thinks this is a good idea? Perhaps he's not comfortable with how they work (it is a bit counter intuitive until it's been explaine...
