Re: Hello from Ross-shire

Sorry for the delay, thanks for registering. I love the Phantom 40 and the people at the factory still say it's one of Fairline's best. I hope you have some great time aboard.

Re: 2001 Targa 43

They're a great boat, built like the proverbial brick sh!it house.

Just find one that's been well looked after get it surveyed. If you intend to keep it in the Med then factor in the cost of A/C, Genset, Pasarelle etc.

Re: Wardrobe door seems to be fading

Hi,

It's commonly known as 'blooming' and is very prevalent in boats of that age. Repairing it is an expensive job (it would need to be sanded back to the original veneer and re-varnished) so most owners just live with it.

I can't imagine anyone will still sell these. Can you post a photo? Have you considered having the original one refurbished?

Re: Which Targa 30 would you choose

Scrap that, I think the broker was tbs (whoever it was mentioned it whilst showing us around a Sealine S330) - could well be this one http://www.tbsboats.com/boats-for-sale/fairline-targa-30-2/ He said that they were amazed at how nice condition it was. There's a good chance that's my old boat. The...

Re: Squadron 52 Side Panels

IF there's no visiable way of removing them then they have probably been stuck on or if you're lucky, attached using very strong velcro.

Re: Check list needed for Failine Targa 30 model 2000

Hi, the Bow thruster was a retrofit. Lux models have the windows set into the coachroof, a Jack and Jill door to the heads and a hydraulic engine hatch. There's no real issues with these boats but it's essential that you get a surveyor to check the hull for and groundings or other abuse. Also get an...

Re: Fuel use

I have Phantom 40 MPG's as follows: 1800RPM / 12.9kts = 1.07mpg 2000RPM / 16.6kts = 1.43mpg 2200RPM / 20.1kts = 1.18mpg 2400RPM / 23.2kts = 1.08mpg 2600RPM / 25.9kts = 0.93mpg 2800RPM / 28.2kts = 0.79mpg Note that the range is therefore 251 miles @ 16.6kts. I'm afraid I don't have them for displacem...

Re: Targa 40 swim platform

Hi Richard, if you look at the thread I linked to above, there should be details of the contractors that "Jimmy the Builder" used for the platform extension.
