Hi Tony, I used A-glaze its very good, Clive from A-Glaze gives a 10% discount to forumites which helps a little, although you sound like you're in the trade anyway. I thought the shine was too much from a compound alone. Probably like the other viewers I thought you found a miracle polish in the Me...

Hi Roger, Try asking on the "Fairline Forum" rather than "Project Forum", not much responses usually on this part of the forum except for total refits. Might be worth adding to the symptoms that the supercharger is stuck always ON on this engine. Really I would pay a volvo guy to come take a look fo...

Jak, The hour meter displays tend to stop working after a few years in marine environment. They count but stop displaying usually in summer they dry out the moisture and start displaying again (remember they are always counting) When you replace with new you really loose the ability to prove the hou...

The last two digits of the Hull number (also called Hull identity number / HID / HIN etc) Will usually be moulded into the gelcoat on the starboard side transom or bathing platform. eg GB FLN 00000B0 98 1st two are are country of manufacture, next 3 are the manufacturer FLN being fairline, the other...

Congratulations, bit of gel work and vinyl is good going, hopefully the survey is good. dont know if they are any good but I saw bowthrustersuk.com had reasonable prices. Dont take that as a recommendation but just another company to consider. Most targas are fitted with thrusters made by sidepower,...

hi, if it leaks around the immersion heater boss then its probably the seal thats failed, its very common because its just made of fiber and over-tightened it distorts. to fix you'd need to remove the element with the right box spanner then buy a new seal (couple of ?) remember to not over-tighten e...

Andy some good advice, esp with looking at the older targas (many of which have been completely refitted by now) That T34 is pretty surely a scam 70k for a 2005 T34. Several ppl re-advertised my boat when she was for sale, pinching the photos / desc in various foreign languages for prices down to EU...

I know of nice T30s that went for 60-68k in the past 18months, but this period was very different. Now with a lot more stability in the economy you can probably expect 'asking prices' to stick to 80k+ (as they always have) but achieved prices/discount to be within 10-15% at best. I expect they will ...

Jak, most T30's that Ive seen have bowthruster because over their 10yrs or so one of the owners decided they wanted it. single handed it helps a lot, esp if you can buy a remote control for your bow thruster (or make one if you're like me), seems real lazy but with one you bring the stern to the pon...

Sold mine but the T30 is very hard to fault. The T29 is also a very nice boat but being an older model than the T30 you will not find many in good condition or updated. Although some on this forum have extremely tidy examples. Try and stick to KAD32 engines in both cases. For diesels with a reasonab...
