Fitting advice - cable through transom for fishfinder

Hi I'm fitting a fishfinder between the drives on the transom of our Targa 31. I need to drill a hole in the transom for the cable. I'll do this as high up as possible but none the less the site of hole will at be approx waterline level. Should I seal the cable in the hole with Epoxy. fibre glass or...

Targa 31 transom thickness??

Hi anybody know roughly how thick the transom is on a Targe 31?
I'm going down to fit a fish finder and want to try and have long enough drill bits with me.

Also any general advice about installing a fishfinder will be welcome :-)

It's also been suggested that
"THE FRENCH CANAL ROUTES TO THE MEDITERRANEAN"
is a worthwhile addition to the boat.
